Celebrating History: Baptist Emergency Hospital to participate in annual SchertzFest

SAN ANTONIO – Sept. 8, 2016 – Nothing represents Texas tradition better than an old-fashioned barbecue cook-off. Staying true to its hometown roots, Baptist Emergency Hospital will participate in SchertzFest, a two-day festival featuring grill masters from across the state, set to take place Sept. 16-17 at Pickrell Park.

The sanctioned barbecue cook-off will be just one of many attractions at the annual event. Attendees will also enjoy live music, carnival activities and other family friendly entertainment, along with one-of-a-kind goods from local vendors.

Guests are invited to stop by the Baptist Emergency Hospital tent for exciting giveaways to help soak up the last bit of summer, and to learn more about its newest community hospital locations opening fall 2016.

Located just northeast of San Antonio, the city of Schertz is most prominently recognized for its family atmosphere and sense of community. SchertzFest originated in 2008 to honor the 50th anniversary of the city’s official incorporation, and has since become one of its greatest traditions.

Each year, the festival attracts an average of 7,000 people to help observe the occasion.
